We have a sump pump in our garage. Can I get away with just buying a $50 UPS battery backup intended for use with office computers? I can mount it where it will be above any potential water (should flooding occur), and it will be plugged into a GFCI. Our sump goes on once the "bucket" reaches a certain level, then turns off again once it pumps out a certain amount, so the sump doesn't run full time during a rain storm but rather comes on every couple minutes.

Or do I need to get a proper sump battery backup? We have a Zoeller sump pump.
